Chris Boyce is 60 years old and is filled with a passion to know Jesus and make Him known. From the ages of 13-23, anger, unforgiveness, emptiness, drugs, alcohol, heavy metal bands, addiction, sin, and a failed suicide attempt defined Chris’ life. That is, until Jesus got a hold of him. He was baptized August 8, 1990 in Murfreesboro, TN at the North Blvd church of Christ through the love of a Christian widow named Grace. A few months later, in February of 1991, Jesus called him to ministry. Jesus not only filled the emptiness and set him free from drugs and alcohol, but He gave Chris a passion to reach the lost that has taken him all over the world these last 35 years: in prisons/jails (1991-94; 2001), planting a church in the inner city of Mobile, Alabama (1994-98), to training evangelists and planting churches in Mwanza, Tanzania (2000-05), discipleship/leadership training in Recife, Brazil (2007-11), preaching for a rural TN church (2011-15), doing college ministry in Seoul, Korea (2016-19), as an evangelist with Nashville Inner City Ministry (2019-2021) and now as the teaching minister of the Shillington church of Christ in Reading, PA (since July 1, 2021). He has a B.A. in Bible from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and a M.A. in Missions/Bible from ACU in Abilene, Texas. He speaks two languages (besides English and really bad Korean): Portuguese and KiSwahili. He has one precious 22 year old daughter named Sara who lives and attends university in South Korea. Chris’s passion include: Jesus, building friendships with people, teaching God’s Word, he is forever in search of the perfect cup of coffee, studying cultures, Kenyan tea, Bugs Bunny cartoons, astronomy, and travel.
